On Friday April 20 2018 at 10:00AM the French-Kazakhstani juridical International Conference took place at Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute. It was organized by the French Institute of Studies on Central Asia (IFEAC), Abay Kazakh National Pedagogical University (KazNPU Abay) as well as the French Embassy in Kazakhstan.
Numerous personalities were present and talked during the event, such as Igor ROGOV, executive deputy director of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, who acted as moderator, and Philippe MARTINET, French embassador for Kazakhstan, Jean-Marie HUET member of the Superior council of magistrature, Claire BAZY MALAURIE member of the Constitutional council, Viktor MALINOVSKY member of the Constitutional council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Marat AKHMETZHANOV deputy prosecutor general of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Christian MESTRE, director of the Institute of Law.
They tackled the issues of terrorism and the solutions to control it as well as the migrants issue and security in Europe.
The audience was composed of former and actual French and Kazakhstani political people (Berik ABSMIMETOVA prosecutor of Almaty, Patrick RENARD consul general of France in Kazakhstan, Galimkair MUTANOV rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, etc.), and of students and members of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute.
Outside the conference room of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute was a great exhibition of Kazakh traditional pieces, objects and paintings.
After the conference, a solemn ceremony took place to give titles of « Professor honoris causa », as well as solemn signatures of two memorandum on cooperation between KazNPU and IFEAC, and KazNPU and the Court of the city of Almaty. And finally the French Embassy certificate was awarded to the laureate of the LabCitoyen contest, Adel URIKBAYEVA (3rd year of International Law) and two encouraging certificates were awarded to Alisher KADIROV (2nd year of International Law) and Togzhan UAZIKHANOVA (1st year of Master of Management).
To close the day, a classical music concert took place, organized by the Akim Orchestra of Almaty and the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute.
