From 18th to 21st of September Al-Farabi Kazakh National University together with G-Global held a Conference QS WORLDWIDE «Journey to Global Prominence: Harmony of Human Heritage and Advanced Technology».
Within the framework of the conference, on the 19th of September at the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute of KazNPU named after Abay, took place the 3rd Kazakh-French Forum: “The role of universities in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals: an example of cooperation between Kazakhstan and French universities”.
Welcoming speeches and presentations were given by: Mr. Philippe Martine – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic; Igor Rogov Ivanovich – Deputy Executive Director of the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Elbasy, member of the Venice commission of the Council of Europe from the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Law, Professor; Erlan Islanov Uzanovich – Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty; Aktolkyn Kulsarieva Turlukanovna – Vice-rector for academic work and international cooperation of KazNPU named after Abay, member of NAS of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor with a presentation about KazNPU named after Abay; Ali Smida – Chief Coordinator from the University of Paris-13 (France), with a presentation “Titanic of an aging population. What are the directions for caring for the elderly?”; Pierre Tifin – Director of the Institute of Law, University of Lorraine, holder of state awards, expert in the field of administrative law, digital law (France), with a presentation: “Some legal problems associated with the use of algorithms in “Smart cities”; Licia Bagini – Responsible for Interaction with Universities of Central Asia, Department of Literature and Languages, at the University of Poitiers, and Philippe Rojon – Professor at the University of Poitiers, Responsible for International Cooperation (France), with the presentation on Sustainable Development and Environmental Responsibility”; Brahim Elouadi – Professor at the University of La Rochelle, with a presentation on the University of La Rochelle; Serik Nugerbekov – Head of the International Secretariat G-Global.
The forum was attended by: Taumurat Daniyar Taumuratuly – Head of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the city of Almaty; Kaiyrzhan Tokushev Akhmetbekovich – Head of the Republican Project Office “SANALY URPAQ”, representatives of the diplomatic club of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Almaty) and representatives of the diplomatic corps, academics of Kazakhstani universities, foreign students of the Institute of Sorbonne-Kazakhstan KazNPU named after Abay and other persons.
Rector of KazNPU named after Abay – Takir Balykbayev Ospanovich noted that all the presentations demonstrated a high level of interest from the French academics in relevant aspects pointed out in the UN Sustainable Development Goals, both in Kazakhstan and in France.

During the forum, a graduation ceremony was held for the graduates of the University of Lorraine under the program of “Introduction to the European and French legal and economic system.”
The concert of the ethnographic group “Babalar Sazy”, an exhibition of applied art of the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports of the KazNPU named after Abay, an exhibition of the Daryn State Prize Laureate, a member if the Union of Artists of the Painting department of the KazNPU named after Abay art and graphic faculty, were presented at the forum. - Nuraln Kilibayev Atalykovich.
